Software Update for Manhattan T3-R Freeview Box

Manhattan, a satellite and terrestrial set-top box manufacturer, has released a software update for the T3-R Freeview recorder box. The move indicates an ongoing desire by the manunfacturer to continue supporting older devices, despite the launch of a successor, the T4-R.

The update focuses on resolving app related issues primarily with BBC iPlayer, ITV X, S4C, and U (formerley UKTV Play). Changes to menu background colours and icon colours have also been made to improve visibiltiy. For devices connected to the internet, the update is automatic. Offline devices can also be updated via a USB memory stick.

The T3-R was launched in 2018, but as it’s sucessor, the T4-R utilises different hardware, it unlikely that many new features will be added to the earlier model. However, the continuation of updates to fix issues will be welcome to viewers.
